Diana would be jealous of Harry's California life but is devastated by feud with William, royal expert claims

Princess Diana would be envious of some aspects of Prince Harry's life in America but would be devastated by his rift with Prince William, a royal expert has said.

Ingrid Seward said the late Princess of Wales would have done all she could to defuse tensions between her sons before they exploded into the bitter rift that is today.

On Saturday, 27 years after Diana's death, Ingrid told The Sun that she would have been heartbroken by the current state of Prince Harry and Prince William's relationship.

While Diana is “angry” at the trouble the two princes caused, she is also “jealous” that her youngest son was able to leave Britain and live the “dream” life.

Ingrid said: “The life that Harry is living in America with his wife and family, away from the royal world, is the life that Diana himself would have wanted and I think she would have been incredibly proud that Harry has actually gotten it.”

“I think what really upsets Princess Diana is that Prince Harry is estranged from his brother and his father.

“Diana really wanted her family to be together all the time.

“But when it comes to Harry's life, I think she would be very envious. This is exactly what Diana herself would have wanted.”

“She wanted to go and live in America, somehow she thought it would be a brighter, easier life for her there.

“It would have been a sad thing indeed if she had been able to achieve that dream.”

Ingrid also claimed that if Princess Diana were still alive, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would still be living in the UK and living as part of the royal family.

She added: “If Princess Diana had been alive, this probably wouldn't have happened.”

“She was a very strong person and things never would have gotten this bad.

“Harry and Meghan will continue to live in the UK and be members of the Royal Family.”

Earlier, Prince Harry, 39, and Prince William attended their uncle's funeral together on Thursday but were not seen speaking to each other.

Both princes “privately” attended the funeral of Sir Robert Fellowes, their mother Diana, Princess of Wales' brother-in-law.

They are said to have been sitting apart at the back of a church in Snettisham, Norfolk.

Prince Harry has recently come under fire for digging up every nasty thing he's ever said about the royal family.

His explosive memoir, Spare, is soon to be released in paperback.

Spare was originally published in 2023 and launched a vile attack on the Firm.

Prince Harry brutally claimed that Prince William threw him to the floor and ripped off his necklace after he made a furious remark about Meghan.

The father-of-two also recalled begging his father not to marry Camila, fearing she would become like an “evil stepmother”.

Meanwhile, the Duke spoke about the death of his mother, Princess Diana, when he was 12, and claimed Prince Charles never even gave him a hug.

And in an interview conducted to drum up publicity before the book hits stores, Harry unleashed even more criticism.

The spare paperback will be released in the UK on October 24th and in the US on October 22nd.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex declined to comment.

Prince William and Prince Harry reunite at uncle's funeral

Prince Harry and Prince William were together to say goodbye to their uncle earlier this week, but were not seen speaking to one another.

The princes “privately” attended the funeral of Sir Robert Fellowes, their mother Diana, Princess of Wales' brother-in-law, on Thursday.

They are said to have been sitting apart at the back of a church in Snettisham, Norfolk.

Sources close to Prince Harry, 39, who lives in the US, had previously claimed the prince would not attend.

However, a close family friend said: “We are very pleased to confirm that both princes were in attendance.”

Another source said he only saw them at the end of the service at St. Mary's Church.

They said: “We had no idea they were there. They came very discreetly.”

One local added: “Prince William and Prince Harry were both there but they were never seen speaking to each other and kept their distance.”

The brothers have barely spoken since Megxit, when Prince Harry and his wife Meghan quit royal duties and started a new life in the United States.

Prince Harry and Prince William, 42, have strolled around Windsor Castle following Queen Elizabeth's death in 2022, but they have not been in the same room since the king's coronation over a year ago.
