Kuwait: Every business relies on marketing as a major part of its success. Even marketing has changed with the development of modern technology. Pandemics and blockades have begun the transition to online work and business in all areas, and digital marketing has become an important part of this transformation. Kuwait Times met with digital media marketer and content creator Mohammed Fawaz to talk about some interesting issues in digital marketing, the obstacles companies faced during a pandemic, tips for avoiding bankruptcy, and more. Some excerpts:

Kuwait Times: How is digital marketing different from regular marketing?
Mohammed Fawaz:
Statistically, over 80% of people spend more than 6 hours a day on the phone. People are more interested in visual advertising because of its dynamic structure. Regular marketing includes billboards, print media and TV channels, and new digital marketing includes phones, tablets and computers. Providing product services and messages via short videos or dynamic digital content is very easy.

KT: Which tool do you use?
Fawaz:
I’m focused on digital marketing and social media advertising, and the tools I use include search engine optimization, content marketing, email marketing, social media advertising, and website marketing.

KT: How can companies profit from now on?
Fawaz:
Using these digital marketing tools can help you increase brand awareness, reach a large number of viewers, communicate quickly with your customers, discover insights into all the content your business is posting, and clients. There are many benefits, such as checking for interactions with. Increased sales through direct communication and widespread advertising.

KT: How about an individual? Do they also want this service?
Fawaz:
Indeed, however, personal use of these marketing platforms is different from corporate use. Influencers, bloggers, and content creators need to look at the concept of King and Queen rules in marketing. In this case, the content should be as good as the ad. I always point out that content (the king) must be highly competitive in order to distribute (promote) it. You need to see if this content can provide something to your audience.

Digital marketing during a pandemic

KT: What was the role of digital marketing during the pandemic?
Fawaz:
As COVID-19 spread around the world, the structure of marketing plans has changed and competition to increase the exposure of online businesses has become more intense than before the pandemic. Digital marketing was the only solution to increase sales and save business, as people sit at home, use mobile phones and tablets, watch TV, and use computers.

KT: How did you save some businesses and entrepreneurs from bankruptcy during a pandemic?
Fawaz:
During the pandemic, I spent a very long day and night brainstorming new ideas to people to make my advertising content stand out in the field of marketing. I decided to show my identity and then focus on explaining the service. Then we had a big campaign to take leads (data collection), so after building a base, we can call on people to take action. This was a very dynamic way to inspire people’s emotions and show them the credibility of their business.

KT: What advice can you give to companies facing problems?
Fawaz:
The number one rule to survive in this new economy is to provide customers with services that solve their problems. Otherwise, customers will not be interested in your service. In other words, when a service can fix something or solve a problem and change the customer’s current situation to the desired situation, the customer takes out the credit card and pays the business.

I encourage companies to invest in the digital marketing department. Without digital advertising, a business wouldn’t exist. In the new economy of 2022, it is important to focus on social and digital media advertising. People are embracing real life into the digital world. This began to be seen through a new metaverse where most large companies around the world are investing in the promotion of their products.
