Dominican Hashkova representing the Czech Republic in the Eurovision Semifinals

We Are Domi, a Czech and Norwegian alternative electro pop band, was founded in the UK in 2016 and all three members studied at Leeds Conservatory of Music.

In addition to singer Dominica Domi Haskovo, Norwegian guitarist Casper Hatrestad and keyboardist Benjamin Lekstad are also included.

The first trio we played with in one of the Dominican vocal recitals is not only a musical collaborator, but also a good friend who has lived in the Czech Republic for the past two years.

We Are Domi’s entry into Eurovision is a song called Light Off, an energetic and uplifting song influenced by electronic dance music. According to Dominika Hašková, it’s about picking up a fragment of her own life and starting over from her beginning.

“We put out music so that everyone can get all the meaning they need from the song to make them feel good and happy. I mean, outside in the rain. It’s an expression of what it’s like to go out and dance while crying. “

Dominica has been interested in music since she was a child and has already participated in the Czechoslovak Catgut Talent Competition at the age of 15.

Coincidentally, her father Dominik Hasek faced the Czech national hockey team at the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics and won a bronze medal at the Para Olympics, exactly the same venue as his daughter went on stage at Eurovision on Thursday night. Won.
