Dozens of people leave flowers, tea and beer at the shooting site of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe

Residents of Nara, Japan, left flower compliments, tea, and even beer where former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was fatally shot during a campaign speech on Friday (July 8). ..
Some residents praised Prime Minister Abe’s economic policies, while others were shocked to hear that he was assassinated.
According to Japanese media, the main suspect in the shooting, apparently with a homemade gun, fired at Abe from behind while talking in a safe zone in Nara.
Doctors struggled to save Prime Minister Abe, but he died at 5:03 pm (Greenwich Mean Time 0803), about five and a half hours after he was shot dead.
This was the first assassination of an incumbent or former Japanese Prime Minister since the prewar era of militarism in the 1930s.
