On Thursday, a meeting of the Dubai Executive Council approved a new integrated waste management strategy 2021-2041 with a budget of 74.5 billion dirhams.
The conference, held at the DP World Pavilion at the Dubai Expo, was chaired by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid al-McTum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council.
Sheikh Hamdan has approved a strategy to drive innovation in waste management, recycling and energy transformation.
He said the direct contribution of the private sector to the integrated waste management strategy 2021-2041 budget will reach 70.5 billion dirhams.
According to a statement released by Sheikh Hamdan, this strategy will implement long-term projects over the next 20 years by providing practical solutions to environmental problems in line with the environmental goals outlined in the government agenda. I am aiming for.

Dubai is already building a $ 1.1 billion facility that burns garbage to generate electricity.
Dulsco, an integrated solution provider and official waste management partner for Expo 2020 Dubai, recently outsourced a new material recovery facility to Dubai. The new recycling plant at Ras Al Khor has an annual capacity of 80,000 tonnes.
Apart from passing the integrated waste management strategy on Thursday, members said Dubai’s GDP growth reached 6.3%. This is due to the qualitative surge in the second quarter, which recorded growth of 17.8% compared to the same period in 2020.
During the meeting, the Dubai Executive Council also approved the 2022 agenda, which includes comprehensive development projects and initiatives focused on diversifying investment sources, increasing investment in technology, and the knowledge economy.
The agenda also focused on urban planning and infrastructure that help make Dubai more attractive as a tourism and investment destination.
