Dubai will add 1,343 new grocery stores in 2021

Dubai registered 1,343 new food facilities in 2021.

The number of inspections has increased by 12% compared to 2020, and the food safety department of Dubai City made 76,195 inspection visits to food facilities in the Emirate last year.

Last year, municipal call centers received a total of 4,961 communications, with an average of 13 reports received per day due to public security-related violations and Covid-19 precautionary measures violations.

Sultan al-Taha, director of food safety in Dubai, said the municipalities are monitoring a large level of commitment to adhere to the procedures set by food companies in terms of public security measures.

This is due to the increased number of campaigns and awareness-raising visits conducted by the department. Municipalities were keen to step up their daily inspection campaigns, and inspectors dealt with the breach with rigorous procedures without complacency, he added.

Al Taher is that inspectors are working on calibrating temperature controls and thermometers in food facilities, and that food is provided and received from approved sources along with relevant documentation and appropriate equipment, equipment, and space. I pointed out that I was confirming that I was there.
