MOSCOW (Sputnik) – At least eight people were injured in an explosion at a crude oil refinery in the town of Come By Chance in eastern Canada’s Newfoundland and Labrador province, said Royal Canadian Mounted Horsemen of Newfoundland and Labrador. Police (RCMP) said. .
“The Clarenville RCMP announces temporary road closures to Manitoba Drive in Clarenville and parking lot in Sobay as aircraft are being brought in to transport injured persons involved. [in] It’s a come-by-chance refinery explosion,” RCMP Newfoundland Labrador said on social media.
Eight people were taken to hospital after the explosion, police said. The fire caused by the blast was extinguished.
The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
Local media reports said the explosion occurred just after 4pm local time (19:00 GMT) on Friday.
