Activists in the “Stop Oil Exploration” group were taken away by police on Monday morning after stopping traffic in Trondheim city center.

At 7:45 am on Monday, several protesters blocked traffic at the Ergsetter Bridge in Trondheim. The group is part of an international campaign and has announced that protests will spread elsewhere in Norway during the week, the Adresseavisen newspaper wrote.

The activists wore reflective vests and had banners stating “Stop oil exploration.” The protest blocked all traffic to and from Trondheim city center during the morning rush hour.

Police arrived at the scene and evaluated the situation. Only 30 minutes later, the protesters were kicked out of the road and the road was reopened.
