Ethereal ‘halo’ and lightweight arcs across the solar captured in images of ultra-rare phenomena

This picture of the solar surrounded by shining halos and arcs of sunshine was captured Might 28 at Belfast’s Botanic Gardens. (Picture credit score: Alan Fitzsimmons)

A scientist not too long ago snapped a sequence of shining arcs and halos of sunshine surrounding the solar within the sky above the U.Okay., together with an exceptionally uncommon ring of sunshine that circled all the sky.

Alan Fitzsimmons, an astronomer at Queen’s College Belfast in Northern Eire, captured the bizarre gentle present above Belfast’s Botanic Gardens on Might 28. The show lasted round half-hour, Fitzsimmons informed Stay Science.
