EU rejects statement on acceptance into Turkic state machine of occupied north

“Turkey’s actions to promote or assist in any way the international recognition of Cyprus separatist groups seriously undermine efforts to create a conducive environment for resuming reconciliation talks under the auspices of the United Nations. gives

“The EU is fully committed to a comprehensive solution of the Cyprus question on the basis of a two-region, two-community federation with political equality, in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions and in line with EU agreements and principles. On Friday, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavsogur announced the alleged recognition of the TRNC, an intergovernmental organization aimed at promoting cooperation between Turkish-speaking countries.

Cavusoglu wrote on Twitter that everything was progressing “step by step”, citing Turkey’s efforts to achieve international recognition for the breakaway state.

Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar also applauded the decision.

However, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus and the foreign minister of OTC member Uzbekistan downplayed Turkey’s statement.
