Falling into COVID-19 cases slowed down and GIMBE-English

(ANSA)-Rome, June 9-The recent trend towards a decline in the number of new COVID-19 cases in Italy has slowed, the GIMBE Independent Medical Foundation said in Thursday’s weekly coronavirus monitoring report. ..

The number of new cases during the period from June 1st to 7th decreased by 7.8% compared to the previous week.

This is compared to a drop of more than 23% in last week’s report.

GIMBE added that the number of new cases actually increased in 22 states in Italy between June 1st and 7th.

According to the report, the number of people receiving intensive care with COVID decreased by 11.7% and coronavirus-related deaths decreased by 28.3%.
