Fennovoima has terminated the delivery contract for the Hanhikibi 1 nuclear power plant with Rosatom.

Fennovoima is over EPC contract for plant delivery with RAOS project due to significant delay of RAOS project and inability to implement the project. Over the last few years, there have been significant and increasing delays. The war in Ukraine exacerbated the risk of the project. RAOS was unable to mitigate the risk.

This means that collaboration with the RAOS project will end immediately, both design and licensing will be worked on, and it will work on the Hanhikivi1 site where the RAOS project has ended.

“Unfortunately, the termination of the EPC contract is estimated to have a significant impact on employees in Fennovoima and is expected to impact supply chain companies and the Pyhäjoki region. Our main purpose is We support our employees by informing them and working closely with both them and their representatives. We also focus on preserving the site. ” I am. Joachim SpectCEO of Fennovoima.

“The decision to terminate the EPC contract with the RAOS project is not lightly made. In such a large project, it is very complicated and the decision is made only after a thorough examination. Is fully aware of the negative impacts and will do its best to mitigate them. ” Esa HärmäläBoard chairman.
