Hyderabad: Telangana reported five new cases of Omicron on Thursday, boosting the state’s aggregate to 67.
Of the five new cases, four arrived from countries other than “at risk” countries. Travelers from “at risk” countries also tested positive for the new variant of Covid-19.
To date, 22 Omicron cases have recovered, according to the Director of Public Health. Authorities were also waiting for a genome sequence report of 20 samples.
According to officials, 143 passengers from “endangered” countries arrived at Begumpet Airport on Thursday, four of whom tested positive for Covid.
Since December 1, a total of 12,410 passengers have arrived here from endangered countries.
Meanwhile, the state has seen a surge in Covid cases in the last 24 hours until 5:30 pm Thursday. According to the Ministry of Health, 280 new infections were detected during the period when one person was infected with the virus.
A total of 206 cases were recovered from Covid, bringing the total to 6,73,999. Currently, the recovery rate is 98.88%.
