Flogging the Crowd: Ugandan ‘prophet’ arrested for beating believers in church

Authorities reportedly found three sticks in the pastor’s home. Pastors allegedly used it to beat worshipers. Police also suggest he was operating the church illegally.

Self-proclaimed prophet Kintu Dennis and several other members of his church were arrested in Uganda on Friday. It was filmed that he was flogging some people. A herd can be seen watching the scene while piano music plays in the background.

“Recently, Pastor Kintu Denis, who appeared in a viral media clip beating a believer with a ‘magical blessed stick’ at his church in Hoima, was arrested and charged with 18 counts of trafficking, assault and promoting sectarianism. has been charged with,” police wrote. Tweet about the incident.

Kintu claimed to recreate a biblical scene showing how Jesus treated those he found selling goods in the temple.

He will remain in prison until at least September 7, according to reports.
