Flooding in eastern Afghanistan kills 20, injures more than 30

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – At least 20 people have been killed, more than 30 injured and four missing as devastating floods hit the Kosi district of Afghanistan’s Logar province, state governor Maw Wawi said. Enayatullah Shoja said on Sunday.

“These floods killed 20 people, injured 32, left four people missing and destroyed about 3,000 homes,” Shoja told Afghan broadcaster TOLO News.

Casualties included nine children, nine women and two men, according to reports.

The country’s interior ministry said recent floods across Afghanistan had killed a total of 165 people and injured nearly 300 in more than 20 provinces last month. Completely destroyed.
