Following the protest, the Bahamas defeated a swimmer

Barbados, Wildy-The Bahamas’ Califta Swimming Team will be one less player as 11-12 male swimmers Lenin Hamilton have been removed from the list as a result of protests. The Turks and Caicos Islands have protested against the Barbados Amateur Swimming Association. The protest was upheld as Hamilton swam for the Turks and Caicos Islands at a previous regional convention. The good news for the Bahamas is that another Bahamian swimmer can take Hamilton’s seat in his race. Hamilton is allowed to swim, but no Bahamas points are generated. Losing Hamilton is a big blow to the Bahamas, who are aiming to regain the title for the first time in seven years for the fourth consecutive year. There are 35 swimmers on the list. The competition will begin tomorrow at 9am at the Barbados Aquatics Center in Wildy, Barbados.
