Football: Roma lead the way at Milan – English

(ANSA) – Rome, 31 August – AS Roma confirmed their qualification for the Serie A title on Tuesday after defeating bottom-placed Monza 3-0 at home. Meanwhile, his AC Milan champions ended in a scoreless draw at Sassuolo.

Paulo Dybala led Jose Mourinho’s team to victory with a double in the first half. It was the Argentinian forward’s first league goal since joining Roma from Juventus in a closed season, with Roger Ibanez scoring in the second half to seal the win.

Roma have 10 points from four games, while Inter are second with 9 points after beating Cremona 3-1 at San Siro.

Milan are third with 8 points.

Napoli, Lazio, Atalanta and Torino could be level with Roma if they win their respective midweek games.

The latter two teams will face off in Bergamo on Thursday.
