A tripartite meeting between Greece, Cyprus and Israel with US (3 + 1) participation at the foreign minister level will be held on Monday afternoon by video call.
Greece’s Nikos Dendias, Cyprus’s Ioannis Kaslides, Israel’s Yair Lapid, and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will discuss an overview of cooperation not only on regional security but also on energy issues.
Athens has been constantly pushing for the activation of the 3 + 1 scheme in recent months, and the meeting on Monday will be held prior to Prime Minister Kiria Kosmitsutakis’ visit to Washington on May 16.
Meanwhile, the visit is in the text of the Greek-American Mutual Defense Cooperation Agreement (MDCA), which is already considered important for the use of Greek ports and military facilities for the movement of Greek and NATO troops. It will be done later. Voted by the Greek Parliament.
