Kazakh officials have detained Karim Massimov, a former chairman of the National Security Commission, and several other officials on suspicion of treason.

The National Security Commission (KNB) said in a statement on Saturday that former chief Mashimov was detained on Thursday after starting an investigation into alleged treason.
