Foster leaving BTC on August 2 – Witness News

The Bahamas, Nassau-The Bahamas Telecommunications Company (BTC) yesterday announced that its general manager, Andre Foster, will leave the business on August 2.

Inge Smidts, CEO of Cable & Wireless Communications (CWC) BTC’s parent company, confirmed Foster’s resignation in a statement yesterday.

According to the company’s statement, Foster has enjoyed an outstanding career at CWC for over 17 years.

During his tenure, he was Chief Information Officer of Columbus Communications and then Chief Information Officer of C & W Communications. He also served as Chief Operating Officer of BTC before being appointed General Manager in 2021.

“Business is grateful for his leadership in navigating the company throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, following Hurricane Dorian,” the statement read.

“We have also made great strides in the continued expansion of fiber into the home. BTC appreciates Foster’s excellent service to the company and the country and in the next chapter of his professional journey. We wish you success, “the company added, adding that it will announce a new general manager in the coming weeks.

Foster was appointed head of BTC last March, at the time One of the youngest Bahamans to lead the company in history, moving from his role as BTC’s operations manager at the time. Foster leaving BTC on August 2 – Witness News
