The Luxembourg Cancer Foundation has set up 19 free sunscreen dispensing stations nationwide as part of a campaign to protect people from skin cancer caused by excessive exposure to light.

The Foundation says the station is equipped with a non-contact dispenser of sunscreen, real-time information about UV levels, and advice on how to protect yourself from the sun.

It makes Luxembourg hot and humid under the heat wave, and the National Weather Service Meteorax will warn on weekends: The temperature has reached 35 degrees..

This campaign is a repeat of last year’s initiative, where 10 stations were in operation.

This year’s 19 locations include several spots in the capital. For example, Kinnekswiss Park, Skatepark Péitruss, Kirchberg’s Central Park, and the commune of Esch-sur-Sûre, Remich, and Grevenmacher.

“Skin cancer is a major cancer in Luxembourg,” the Foundation said on its website: “The majority of the population is aware of the recommendations to follow to protect themselves … but the right actions to protect themselves The sun remains limited.”
