Are you a horse riding enthusiast?If so, you will want to mark your calendar for this year’s Katara International Arabian Horse Festival (KIAHF).
World-class events will be held from February 2nd to 6th, 2022, under the auspices of Amir, Qatar, in collaboration with the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club and the Qatar Equestrian Federation.
In its statement, Katara aims to promote “the uniqueness of purebred Arabian horses on a variety of national and international platforms.”

Horses have long been an important part of Gulf culture, and thousands of people are very proud to open their collection of prestigious horses to the public. Horse prices can easily reach $ 1 million, depending on the breed and its characteristics.
The festival includes a spectacular Arabian Peninsula Equestrian Show from February 3rd to 5th, an Arabian Equestrian Auction on February 7th, and February 9th to 12th.
The prize money will be distributed to the following three contest categories.
•• Yearling (1 year old): The prize money is 250,000 QR for 1st place, 150,000 QR for 2nd place and 100,000 QR for 3rd place.
•• Juniors (2 to 3 years old): 1st place is QR800,000, 2nd place is QR 430,000, 3rd place is QR250,000.
•• Seniors (4 years old and over): 1st place is QR 1,000,000, 2nd place is QR 600,000, 3rd place is QR 300,000.
A group of 11 judges will take turns evaluating the class in groups of 9. Horses are judged based on five criteria: type, head and neck, body and topline, legs, and movement.
The “best” auction, on the other hand, aims to provide horse owners, breeders and horse enthusiasts with the opportunity to buy excellent purebred Arabian horses.
Katara said registration for the festival has begun and will remain open until December 31st.
