Ghidoran Combat Vehicle Increases Army’s Operational Capabilities

In spring 2021, the Hungarian Armed Forces will be equipped with a multipurpose armored vehicle that can be used mainly in support roles. Originally he was named Ejder Yalçın, the vehicle was re-named after one of his Hungarian horse breeds bred on his farm at Mezőhegyes Stud. The Hungarian Ghidoran is equipped with an ASELSAN SARP stabilized remote-controlled turret that can be fitted with a 7.62 mm medium or 12.7 mm heavy machine gun, or a 40 mm automatic grenade launcher. The turret is equipped with a day and night camera system for target detection and identification, as well as a laser rangefinder.

Another feature purchased by the Hungarian Armed Forces is the ASELSAN SEDA-V acoustic gunfire detector for vehicles, which can identify where Gidran was shot. Assembly and subsequent production in Hungary will allow Gidrans to perform all levels of missions, including reconnaissance, chemical defense and troop transport.
