Greece lifts mask obligations, with exceptions

In Greece, for the first time in almost two years, with certain exceptions, face masks for Covid-19 are no longer required.

Until at least September 15, citizens can enter all indoor areas without a mask, without the risk of fines.

Exceptions are medical facilities and elderly housing with care, and urban public transport (subway, electric railroad, bus, trolleybus, tram).

Intercity public transport, where passenger seats are numbered, no longer requires the use of masks, but the same is true for airplanes.

Students and students can now attend classes without masks.

Expert recommendations on what to apply to the ship regarding the use of masks are still pending. Required at this time. This issue may be discussed Wednesday by a scientific committee that advises the government on pandemics.

Case jump

The number of new coronavirus infections on Tuesday returned from 2,400 to 5,080 the day before, the National Public Health Organization (EODY) said in its daily report.

Health officials have announced 12 more deaths from the disease. This was a slight decrease from 19 on Monday, bringing the overall death toll from the start of the pandemic to 29,845.

On Tuesday, as it was the day before, there were 130 intubated patients in the hospital.
