Greece’s GDP to grow by 6% in 2022

Greece’s economy is expected to grow by nearly 6% in 2022, even with severe energy shortages towards the end of 2022. This is driven by burgeoning tourism and investment, according to Prague-based investment firm Wood & Company.

Wood examines two possible outcomes based on the disruption of the energy supply. The first is only occasional and the second is severely lacking.

In a more optimistic scenario, Greece’s GDP would grow at a pace of 6% in 2022 and 2.5% in 2023, with average inflation of 13% in 2022 and 7.5% in 2023. In the worst case scenario, growth will remain at around 6% in 2022. , but there is a shrinkage of 2.6%. Inflation next year will be 9%.

In both scenarios, the debt to GDP ratio will decrease from 198% in 2021 and 184% in 2023 to 190% in 2022.
