Hamad Buamim, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce

The Covid-19 pandemic has revolutionized and redefined the way we live and do business. The path to economic recovery is one of resilience, hope and foresight, that the journey that the country faces today can only be solved by a shared, coordinated and impartial response, and these challenges pose a pandemic. It reminded us that we are over. Environmental issues to ensure long-term sustainable growth. He also taught that a prosperous future depends on the ability to adapt, innovate and leverage advanced technologies to meet new challenges.

The fruits of our efforts are reflected in Dubai’s economic indicators, which are showing signs of strength and recovery. Dubai’s non-oil trade reached 722 billion dirhams in the first half of 2021, up 31% year-on-year, but exports alone surged 45%, reflecting the Emirate’s commitment to economic diversification. Expo2020 will also impact Dubai in a variety of economic sectors by further strengthening Dubai’s position as a country of opportunity, a green economy, a global hub for innovation, and a testbed for cutting-edge technologies and solutions around the world. I’m witnessing it.

As an official business integration partner for Expo 2020 Dubai, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce is working to attract more than 100,000 companies to Dubai to participate in mega-events. The Chamber of Commerce brings together business communities around the world to host high-profile forums designed to promote economic partnerships and cross-border cooperation.

With over 275,000 members, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce currently operates under a new three-chamber structure designed to implement a more professional approach to supporting business. The Dubai International Chamber of Commerce is supporting ongoing efforts to attract emirate trade to emirates and attract multinational corporations around the world to emirates over the next five years. The Dubai Chamber of Commerce continues to represent the traditional sector, and the Dubai Digital Economy Chamber of Commerce focuses not only on start-ups, but also on growth sectors focused on high tech and innovation.

We are confident that this approach will solidify Dubai’s position as a global business hub and promote economic growth and competitiveness in the emirates. We continue to explore new markets and opportunities through our trade missions, flagship events and international offices, facilitating our quest for innovation and sustainability.
There is a lot of fun in 2022 as Dubai drives a new vision and strengthens its value proposition to businesses and investors. We at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce are very excited about what the future holds and the many new frontiers we are exploring. We will spare no effort to ensure that 2022 is the year of the new milestone described in the next chapter on growth in Dubai.
