Members of the Turkish Jewish community are pleased with the ongoing steps to normalize Turkey’s relations with Israel, local leaders said Monday. Anadolu Agency Report.
Saul Senudioguru, Head of the Hatai Jewish Community Foundation in Southern Turkey, said:
Recognizing the importance of Israeli President Isaac Herzog’s recent visit to Turkey, Senudioguru said. Anadolu Agency: “I am pleased that our relationship with Israel, which has deteriorated in certain incidents in the past, has reached a positive point today.”
Earlier this month, the head of state of Israel visited Turkey for the first time in 14 years. This was seen as a step towards improving relations with Ankara.
Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett will also visit Turkey shortly, according to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Cenudioglu emphasized that the Turkish Jewish community is supporting efforts to promote relations between Ankara and Tel Aviv. “A good relationship between the two countries makes us happy. It should make everyone happy because mankind wants peace above all else.”
“There is a war between Russia and Ukraine. Isn’t peace better for humanity?” He asked.
Cenudioglu said raising the relationship to a higher level would benefit both countries as well as trade and tourism.
Calling Hatay Province the “Garden of Civilization,” Senudioguru emphasized that various beliefs have lived peacefully here for centuries.
“We invite all Israelis to the Expo 2021 Hatay event, which opens on April 1st, to promote relations between the two countries.”
