Hungary provides 10,000 euros to Afghanistan after the earthquake

Foreign Ministers said on Saturday that Hungary would provide emergency assistance worth 4 million forints (€ 10,000) to help victims of an earthquake that claimed more than 1,000 lives in eastern Afghanistan.

Peter Sijart said on Facebook that 2 million forints will be provided through the government’s Hungarian aid humanitarian aid program and the remaining 2 million forints will be provided by Hungarian ecumenical charity.

“We need to provide support where problems occur and provide them quickly,” he said, saying that the 5.9 earthquake in Paktika killed more than 1,000 people and left most of the area’s housing and infrastructure. It was destroyed. He said assistance would be provided in the shortest possible time.
