Hungary’s cash flow-based budget deficit close to 6.9 billion euros as of the end of April

Hungary’s cash flow-based budget deficit reached Hungarian forint 2,635.6 billion (€ 6.9 billion) at the end of April, excluding the local council, the Treasury said in a preliminary release of data on Monday.

The central budget deficit reached Hungarian forint 2,669.7 billion at the end of April. The social security fund had a deficit of $ 18.7 billion, while another state fund had a surplus of Hungarian forint 52.8 billion.

The deficit at the end of March expanded from 2,309.4 billion forint.

The full-year cash flow-based general government deficit target is Hungarian 3,152.7 billion.

The ministry reiterated the government’s commitment to “improving balance indicators” in its announcement.

“Hungary’s stability must be maintained in the unpredictable world economic environment caused by the war,” he said.

The ministry expects the accrual-based general government deficit to reach 4.9% this year compared to GDP, but asserts that the state’s debt ratio will drop to 76.1% at the end of the year.

It is calculated with GDP growth of 4.3%.
