Hurricane Diversion Brings 16,000 Cruisers to Nassau – Eye Witness News

Nassau, Bahamas — Cruise itinerary disruptions as a result of Hurricanes Ian and Fiona diverted five cruise lines to Nassau’s primary cruise port, with an additional 16,000 cruise visitors brought in by Nassau cruise port officials it was done.

When contacted yesterday, Jan Knowles, vice president of marketing and communications for Nassau Airport Development Company (NAD), said the LPIA has not confirmed any flight cancellations as a result of Hurricane Ian. However, she said a Bahama Air flight to Havana, Cuba has been cancelled.

Hurricane Ian intensified into a Category 3 storm yesterday as it continues its trek toward Florida, where it is expected to make landfall late Wednesday and early Thursday.
