“If you’re new to gardening, I believe winning under your belt is a big moment,” Kevin said. “The first harvest is unforgettable.”

Next, Kevin looks at five different crops that the gardener can grow within a month. Videos range from crops that grow within 10 days to crops that take almost a month to harvest.

MICROGREENS

Kevin’s first crop to introduce is Microgreen, which he claims to be his favorite crop.

“It’s the same seeds you use to grow plants to perfection, but you play them a lot more and plant them very densely along the tray,” he said.

Kevin compares growth to chia pets. “In fact, you can actually grow cheerleader greens if you want.”

He states that the crops grow really fast, are very nutritious, and gardeners can circulate them.

“You can keep seeding them continuously, trays can come out of the garden and they can work on the recipe very easily.

Peas and sunflowers

Although technically still microgreen, Kevin groups them differently because of the different growth times.

Pea are very easy to germinate, nutritious and can be soaked with seeds if the gardener so desires.

According to Kevin, sunflowers have a very distinctive nutty flavor, which he calls “refreshing.” He is advised to soak them and be careful of mold. Because it’s a larger seed and more things can go wrong.

When growing peas and sunflowers, Kevin says it takes about 12 to 15 days to harvest.

Baby lettuce

Baby lettuce or baby green is a microgreen that can grow longer.

He recommends spacing them, depending on the size of the final harvest. If you need larger greens, place them apart and the leaves will grow further.

However, if you want to reduce the yield, plant them closer together to increase the yield.

Baby root vegetables

Crops such as beets fall into this category, and Kevin says he prefers to eat beet greens. Radish and turnip greens also fall into this category.

“You can harvest them for their greens before they start to put out the bulbs, that’s nothing wrong,” Kevin said.

“They germinate fast and grow fast.”

According to Kevin, radishes can be harvested in the 30th day, but turnips and beets can take some time to harvest.

Crops such as kale and bok choy are called “extra greens” by Kevin. Harvesting kale takes more than 30 days, but the baby varieties can be cultivated within a month and harvested for use in garden salads.

According to Kevin, the baby bok choy variety is a good crop to use in stir-fry.

“Besides loose-leaf lettuce and these simpler green worlds, there are a variety of’extra greens’. “

Kevin ends the video by harvesting his crops and turning them into easy-to-make garden salads.

“The crops in these five groups are so easy and fast-growing that we can succeed in the first harvest and build confidence in horticulture,” he concludes.
