However, one woman took to TikTok to claim that if you’re looking for a little bit of Christmas on a budget, Poundland is the store to hit.

Elysia posted a video of her top picks from discount storesstarting with a cute diamond pen that costs just £1 in pale blue or gold.

If you prefer calendars, there are plenty of options for just £1.50, from cute kittens to just idiots and horses.

On the sweet side, there are 3 pounds each of chocolate gonks or bulldogs and 1 pound of chocolate money.

£3 magnetic mugs and stress balls with various animal designs are available for £1.

Teenagers have a selfie light for just £2.50 and a phone ringer or earphone splitter for 50p each.

On the beauty side, the Marshmallow Foot Mask sells for £1.50, while scented shower gels like Love Heart and Marshmallow Sky are available for £1 a bottle.

“There are some great finds out there,” one person commented on the video.

As another person added: “I love this.”

However, some argue that the store should be renamed because many of the items it sells are over £1.

“Are you going to change your name or continue with your false advertising?” one wrote.

As someone else commented, “Most things aren’t £1 so they should be renamed.”
