Ilok-Croatia’s Traminer Capital This Weekend Place

Traminer fans will meet on Friday and Saturday, June 10th and 11th. The Michelin-starred Hotel Dunaf in Ilock awaits the best traminers, great programs and great fun.

Ilok, June 9, 2022 – Ready for the 4th Traminer Festival, celebrating the aromatic grape varieties used in white wines.

According to the organizers, the most fascinating festival to date will be held in Ilok, the capital of Croatia’s top traminer wines.

The festival begins on Friday night with a gala dinner created by the top chef and owner of Marine Lenditch, Zagreb’s bistro-apti restaurant.

Saturday is reserved for a thematic workshop, so the wines from the Alto Aldige Winery in South Tyrol will be featured. One of the most famous wine writers, Tomislav Ivanovich, leads the master class of guest varieties Tamjanki, with traminers from the highest altitudes to Colorado winery Aquila Cellars.

Visitors can also enjoy the wines of Marc Tempe, an Alsace winery, with the participation of renowned local winemaker George Bikikki.

This is, of course, just part of a rich program that includes tastings from 5pm to midnight against the backdrop of the Sing Song Swing band’s music.

In addition to the top traminers of the most famous Iroquinary, some relatively new names will be introduced, a young winemaker in eastern Croatia that carries on centuries-old traditions.

Since the first Traminatur was planted in 1710 in Principovac, today’s most famous Ilok location, it has continued to fascinate wine lovers.
