Reddit user Phxflyer shared on a forum that a flight attendant said the best packing hack was to roll up your clothes.

A user wrote:

“If you roll it back, you can fit 12 to 14 days’ worth of clothes in your carry-on bag, but a little less in the winter.

“A flight attendant told me about it and I’ve been doing it for a while now.”

Other Reddit users praised the hack and shared their own experiences trying it out.

User Frecklesfunn said:

“I put a set of clothes on the bed, from the longest to the shortest, and roll them up.

“I pack extra underwear/socks/shirts plus just one extra outfit for a few days out. It makes life so much easier, especially with kids.”

Another user said that rolling clothes “takes up less space.”

Even if you use the rolling method, the only thing you should be aware of is the weight of your carry-on luggage.

Some budget airlines have weight limits for carry-on luggage.

Check with your airline about carry-on rules and restrictions so you don’t fall victim to having to check your bags when you arrive at the airport.
