Ljubljana – In 2020, Slovenian employees worked effectively 68.7% of their available working hours, while absenteeism accounted for 26.9% of working hours and 4.4% of meal breaks. The effective working hours of Slovenian employees were 69% in the private sector and 67% in the public sector. Since 2016, the structure of working hours has changed significantly. In 2016, leave accounted for 18.6% of total working hours, primarily due to Covid-19 pandemic-related measures, especially shortened working hours.
