India has reported more than Rs 28,000 COVID cases with a positive rate of 15.13 percent.

New Delhi: India has reported 2,82,970 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, with a daily positive rate of 15.13%, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare notified Wednesday.

There are 2,369 more new infections than yesterday. On Tuesday, India recorded 2,38,018 fresh COVID-19 cases.

With the addition of new cases, the total number of COVID-19 cases in India has increased to 3,79,01,241, including 18,31,000 active cases. Active cases make up 4.83% of all cases.

The country has detected 8,961 cases of Omicron mutants of COVID-19 so far.

According to the Ministry of Health, there has been a 0.79 percent increase in Omicron cases since yesterday.

The daily positive rate is 15.13 percent, while the weekly positive rate is 15.53 percent. Meanwhile, the country’s recovery rate stands at 93.88 percent.

According to the ministry, 1,88,157 people have recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours, with a recovery of 3,55,83,039.

The country has also witnessed 441 new COVID-related deaths in the last 24 hours. So far, as many as 4,87,202 people have succumbed to the infection.

So far, a total of 70.74 chlore samples have been tested, of which 18,69,642 samples have been tested in the last 24 hours.

As far as COVID-19 vaccination is concerned, so far 1,58,88,47,554 vaccinations have been given under a national vaccination drive, of which 76,35,229 have been given in the last 24 hours.
