India’s Omicron Tally rises to 422

New Delhi: India has recorded 6,987 new Covid cases and 162 deaths in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Sunday. The total number of Omicron infections has risen to 422 nationwide.

With the addition of new deaths, the number of casualties reached 4,79,682.

Of all Omicron-positive cases, 130 were discharged. To date, 17 states have reported cases of Omicron infection, the Federal Ministry of Health added.

With the recovery of 7,091 patients in the last 24 hours, the cumulative total has increased to 3,42,30,354. As a result, India’s recovery rate is 98.40%, the highest since March 2020.

India’s active case load is currently 76,766. Active cases account for 0.22% of all positive cases in the country, the lowest since March 2020.

At the same time, a total of 9,45,455 tests were conducted nationwide. India has conducted cumulative tests of over Rs 6.719 billion so far.

On the other hand, the weekly positive rate is 0.62%, which has been less than 1% for the past 42 days.

The daily positive rate is 0.74%, which has been less than 2% for the last 83 days and now less than 3% for 118 days.

With 32,90,766 vaccinations in the last 24 hours, India’s Covid vaccination rate reached 141.37 chlores as of Sunday morning.

According to the Ministry of Health as of Sunday morning, a balance of 17.90 chlores and a dose of unused Covid vaccine are still available in the states and Union territories in which they are administered.
