International tourism increased by 138% in the first three months of this year

International tourist numbers surged in the first quarter, providing relief to the sector hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic and associated restrictions.

During the first three months of 2022, more than 5 million foreign tourists jumped into Mexico. This is an increase of 138.5% compared to the same period last year.

The total number of international flights to these three airports accounted for 76% of the total, an increase of 134% compared to the first quarter of 2021.
