IPhone 14 models other than Pro do not get a 120Hz ProMotion display

San Francisco: Apple plans to announce the iPhone 14 series around September, and a new report now suggests that only the finest iPhone 14 models will feature Apple’s ProMotion display technology.

According to display analyst Ross Young, BOE doesn’t have enough LTPO capacity and hasn’t shipped LTPO panels yet, so it’s “quite dangerous” for Apple to introduce display technology at this point. Instead, “maybe it will arrive in 2023, Apple Insider reports.

Apple first introduced ProMotion in September 2021 on iPhones with the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. With ProMotion, the display automatically updates at up to 120Hz, making content display and scrolling smoother.

Apple plans to release four iPhone 14 models this year, including two standard models on the 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch and two Pro models on the 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch.

The Pro model comes with a major camera upgrade.

Today’s Pro iPhones are equipped with a 12MP camera. However, the iPhone 14 Pro model will have a 48MP camera.

Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro series (tentative name), which will be released this year, will introduce a 48-megapixel primary camera, and it is expected that the 12-megapixel product will further decrease to a 15% share in 2022.

Recently, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed that the 2022 iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max will move to camera hole punchers.

Apple has reportedly advised major US carriers to prepare for the launch of eSIM-only smartphones by September this year.
