Irish Heatwave Potential: Met Eireann identifies counties expecting a heat of 26C to burn Europe

Two Irish states will benefit from a spectacular heat wave to Europe, where temperatures reach 26 degrees Celsius on Friday.

This is the heat of Ireland, but with temperatures reaching 40 degrees Celsius in Spain and France, the situation is expected to be severe elsewhere in the EU.

The east and southeast enjoy the warmth, but forecasts say that the west and northwest do not follow the same sunny fate.

From Tuesday, the weather will be mild in many areas, especially in Leinster and East Münster, where dry and sunny conditions are expected.

It is generally cloudy in the west and northwest, with some isolated showers arriving off the coast and expected to be heavy in the northwest in the afternoon.

Pleasant high temperatures are also expected, with weak south-southwest breeze and moderate maximum temperatures of 19 degrees Celsius.

Wednesday will be dry and bright again, with Münster and Leinster at their best, but rain and drizzle will affect Connacht and Ulster.

Temperatures warm again, reaching a maximum of 21 degrees Celsius in the southeast, but in some parts of the west and northwest, minimum temperatures range from 11 to 14 degrees Celsius, followed by heavy rains.

Thursday follows a similar trend, warm, mostly dry, with eastern and southern sunshine.

In the northwest, there are occasional more mottled rains, with maximum temperatures of 18 to 22 degrees Celsius and milder breeze from the south.

The northern part of the country is expected to be warmest on Thursday, while the northwestern part will continue to rain all night.

On Fridays, rain and drizzle travel southeast across the country, but with light spots and only a few showers later in the day.

Temperatures will reach as high as 26 ° C in Leinster and Münster as the rest of Europe burns with heat waves of 40 ° C.

Further south and west, temperatures in West Münster, Connacht and Arsuta cool in the range of 15 ° C to 19 ° C.

After that, colder air currents pass through these areas, raining and westerly winds.

Regarding the upcoming weekend, Met Alien said:

“The maximum temperature is 15 to 18 degrees Celsius, and the breeze from the northwest is mild.

“Sundays are mostly dry and a little warm, the winds are weak and the maximum temperature is 18-21 degrees Celsius.”
