Israel Participates in Military Exercises in Morocco – Middle East Monitor

Israeli military observers will participate in military exercises in Morocco later this week, according to the Pentagon on Sunday. Anadolu Agency Report.

Participation in the “African Lion 2022” exercise in Morocco is “an additional step to strengthen security relations between the two countries,” according to a statement from the ministry.

This is the first time Israel has participated in international military training in a country in North Africa.

According to the statement, the US military will also participate in the training.

Last year, a Moroccan counter-terrorist unit participated in a multinational training in Israel.

There was no comment from Moroccan authorities on this report.

Morocco was the fourth Arab country to agree to normalize relations with Israel in 2020, following the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Sudan.
