Crickets are a popular snack in many parts of Asia and Africa and are considered a rich source of protein and other nutrients.Insects are also considered a sustainable food source.

In a catering twist, Japanese airline ZIPAIR is serving meals that are partially made with ground crickets.

“Airline caterers offer chili burgers and pasta dishes, both of which contain crushed crickets (or grilled powder) and cost ¥1,500 (US$11.30).” south china morning post report.
