K-League 1 Club Sends Two Players to Exhibit vs. Tottenham in July

Seoul, June 29 (Yonhap News Agency)-The top 12 clubs in the Korean soccer tournament will each send two players to play against Tottenham Hotspur in an exhibition match in Seoul.

The Korean professional soccer league (K-League) also announced that Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors head coach Kim Sang-sik will manage the Team K-League, and Suwon FC’s bench boss Kim Do-kyun will serve as an assistant.

Tottenham, led by Korean star and Premier League Golden Boot winner Son Heung-min, will be competing in the Team K League at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on July 13th at 8 pm.

Kim Sang-sik led Jeonbuk to the K-League 1 Championship in the first season of 2021. This was Jeonbuk’s fifth consecutive league title and the longest consecutive win in K-League history.

Kim Do-kyun took over Suwon FC before the 2020 season and helped promote the 2021 season from K-League 2 to K-League 1.

The 12 K-League 1 teams have already sent an exhibition match candidate list to the league office. Coaching staff and the league’s technical committee will look up their names and announce the final roster on July 7.

According to the K-League, Team K-League will include foreign players and young people under the age of 22 in addition to their own stars.

Tottenham will also face Spanish club Sevilla FC on July 16th at Suwon’s Suwon World Cup Stadium, about 35 kilometers south of Seoul.

Tottenham has a big fan base in South Korea thanks to Son’s hero. The long-time national team captain shared a golden boot with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah scoring 23 goals in the Premier League lead last season. His son became the first player in Asia to be thus honored. K-League 1 Club Sends Two Players to Exhibit vs. Tottenham in July
