Karnataka Cong Appreciates Use of Metro to Transport Workers

Bangalore: Karnataka Pradesh State Legislative Committee Chairman DK Sivakumar’s decision to switch thousands of party members’ transportation to Namma Metro has been well received not only by Bengalis but also by unmarried travelers.

Congress sponsored 80,000 subway tickets on Aug. 15 to allow party officials to arrive at the National College Grounds in Basavanagudi to attend a rally marking the 75th anniversary of independence on Monday.

Thousands of party members from across the state made their debut trip on a subway train and thanked party leaders for giving them the chance to experience traveling on a subway train.

Buses from across the state were parked closest to subway stations in all directions on the outskirts of the city. Once buses and other vehicles entered the city, Bengalis would have had a nightmare on the streets.
