Kuwait confirms two covid-19 deaths, 1917 infection

On Wednesday, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health recorded 1,917 cases of the new coronavirus (Covid-19) and counted up to 607,952 confirmed cases. Dr. Abdullah al-Sanad, a spokesperson for the ministry, added in a statement to KUNA that the number of recovery increased by 4,661 to 575,803 and the recovery rate for infection reached 94.7%. Spokesperson Al-Sanad added that two people have been confirmed dead from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 2,524. In addition, 92 patients are currently being treated in the intensive care unit (ICU), while 393 are being treated in the covid-19 ward, with 29,625 active cases. Al-Sanad also said that 23,703 cotton swab tests have been performed in the last 24 hours, with nationally-wide tests reaching 7,381,432, with an infection-to-swab ratio of 1.8%.
