According to the Kuwait National Petroleum Corporation (KNPC), a fire at the Al-Ahmaddy oil refinery at the beginning of Friday killed two workers and injured 10 others. Talking to KUNA, I’m Ahed Al-Khurayif, Deputy CEO of KNPC’s Administration and Commerce and Official Spokesperson. He said the flames generated by the refinery’s gas liquefier 32 were controlled at record speeds.
He said the unity ignited when the facility was in place as planned, adding that an emergency plan was immediately implemented to deal with the accident. Workers injured in the fire were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, expressing their heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families and hoping for a quick recovery of the injured, he said. However, he pointed out that the production, export, and local supply operations were not affected by the fire because the facility was no longer in operation due to regular maintenance. – Kuna
