The port of Larnaca is preparing to welcome its first summer cruise ship as of Friday, and the outlook is as high as possible, Fillet News reported Tuesday.
It is judged that a large new generation cruise ship can be accommodated in the port without any problem, and the outlook is high.
And this makes the Kishon Ocean Holdings Consortium, which took over control of the harbor and marina on April 1, very positive.
The consortium, which plans a project worth € 1.2 billion, has already signed an agreement on docking cruise ships.
So far, the consortium has reached an agreement on the arrival of 24 cruise ships by the end of the year, said Panos Alexandrou, CEO of Kition Ocean Holdings Ltd.
Most cruise ships arrive from the ports of Israel and Egypt and carry 600-800 people at a time, while cruise ships arriving on Friday carry approximately 1,000 passengers.
