Leaders appeal for better treatment of minorities at Letty Ceremony

A Sunday memorial ceremony at the location of the World War II concentration camp for Roma in Letty, South Bohemia, also appealed to society to treat the minority fairly, Senator Miloš Vystrtil said. Then he told reporters. Čeněk Růžička of the Roman Holocaust Compensation Commission stated that all victims of Nazism deserve the respect shown during the ceremony.

Pirate Party chairman and deputy prime minister Ivan Bartoš said Sunday’s event is also important as the minority situation is becoming a very serious issue for local elections.

The Roma Cultural Museum said work to remove the pig farm currently standing on the grounds of a wartime concentration camp acquired by the government should begin this summer.
