In their comments on the document, they suggested deleting the word “liberal” or replacing it with “constitutional”, referring to the constitution of the Slovak Republic, where Slovakia is not bound by ideology or religion.

The term liberal democracy means a social system based on the principles of representative democracy, separation of powers, rule of law, and human rights. On the other hand, the term liberalism can be understood as a political ideology in favor of minorities and market deregulation.

“Even high school students know that liberal democracy is not liberal government,” said Gregory Mesesnikov, a political scientist at the Institute of Public Affairs.
