A new festival celebrating Ljubljana as a romantic and cultural city opens on February 8th, Slovenian Culture Day, and continues until March 12th, St. Gregory’s Day, the Slovenian version of St. Valentine’s Day.

LUV fest is a celebration of love, art and wandering, which the acronym LUV stands for in Slovenian. The organizers, the Ljubljana Tourism Board, want the event to become popular and traditional.

The festival explores the Ljubljanica River and its mythological history with guided tours, workshops, concerts, exhibitions, open-air multimedia shows and performances such as River of Seven Names.

During the festival, visitors can admire light installations around Ljubljana, take pictures in picturesque locations, enjoy delicious meals and meet the dragons that roam the streets. . We are planning a romantic boat ride in Ljubljanica.

Several cultural institutions, artists, hospitality providers and more are involved in organizing various events and special packages for locals and tourists to enjoy the festival.

On the eve of St. Gregory’s Day on March 11, visitors can join their children in a candle-lit paper boat down the Gradaščica River to celebrate the arrival of spring.
